MinTrip — the private group-trip companion app. Each trip is its own invitation-only space.

MinTrip is invite-only. It is not an advertising business: it sells nothing, shows no ads, and runs no analytics or tracking service. What follows is the whole of it, in plain language.

What the app stores on the trip's server

• Your name, as your host entered it on the guest list.
• Photos, videos and captions you choose to post to the trip feed.
• Check-ins and locations you post — the places you deliberately share.
• Your position on the group map, while the app is open, so the others on your trip can find you.
• Trip activity: stamps, points, comments, reactions, meetup RSVPs, and any itinerary you enter.
• A notification token, if you turn alerts on.

Location, specifically

Location is used only while the app is open. There is no background tracking. It places you on the group map, matches your photos to nearby landmarks so they can earn stamps, and suggests stamp spots near you. Turning location off in iOS Settings stops all of it; the rest of the app keeps working.

Health and fitness data (Apple Watch)

The optional Apple Watch trail companion can record hikes as workouts. With your permission it reads and writes workout sessions, heart rate, active energy, distance and route through Apple HealthKit. All of that stays on your devices, inside Apple Health: it is never uploaded to the trip's server, never shown to other guests, and never shared with anyone. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access, and delete recorded workouts in the Health app; the rest of MinTrip keeps working without it.

Who can see the rest

Only the invited guests of your own trip, and only inside the app. Trips are isolated from each other. Nothing is public, nothing is indexed by search engines, and nothing is sold or shared with any third party. There is no analytics service, no tracking pixel, and no advertising network.

Where it lives

Each trip's content lives in its own database on a private server operated by MinTrip, not on a commercial analytics platform. Notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service, and map search uses Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap, which see only the search terms — never your identity or your photos. Photos submitted to the optional AI stamp scorer are processed only to identify the stamp and are not used for training.

What stays on your phone

Photos and videos you capture are saved to your own camera roll at full size, if you leave that setting on. Captures made with no signal are held on your phone until they can send. The app's cache can be cleared by deleting the app.

Deleting things, and leaving

You can delete your own posts, comments, check-ins and stamps in the app at any time. To have everything of yours removed — or to withdraw from a trip entirely — ask your trip's host, or contact us below, and it will be deleted at the source.

Retention

A trip's content is kept as a keepsake for the people who were on it, for as long as the host keeps the trip. If you would rather yours were not, say so and it will be removed.
